THE COMMITTEE took note of two telegrams from Chungking to the Foreign Office and of the Foreign Office reply

to Chungking on the subject of negotiations between His Majesty's Government and Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek on the machinery of surrender for Hong Kong: and of a telegrami from C.-in-C. British Facific Fleet stating that he was entering Hong Kong with cruisers and destroyers at 05152 on 30th August.
